Hi! My name is Katie and I am a Certified Nutrition Therapist. I started writing my food blog, Healing Whole Nutrition, almost a year ago as a way to keep track of the meals and recipes I was making each week. Sort of like a virtual cookbook I could reference and share with others, and it’s been so fun!
I have always loved to cook and was interested in nutrition growing up, but decided to go the complete opposite route in college and major in Business and Communications. About 2 years ago I decided to go back to school and explore the world of Holistic Nutrition and I’ve never looked back.
Being a Holistic Nutrition Therapist means that I use a personalized, tailored approach for each individual I work with and strive to get to the “root of the problem” rather than just treating a client’s symptoms. In my opinion, it’s the only way to keep someone feeling their best long term!
My food philosophy is simple: Eat whole, nutrient-dense foods. I believe in a diet that is focused around whole foods that are unprocessed and in their original form. That means organic whole fruits and veggies, full-fat dairy, pasture-raised meats and eggs and wild caught fish. Eating this way and minimizing processed foods is a sure, fast way to becoming a healthier, happier you. I also believe in balance, and you will see your fair share of healthier sweet treats on my blog. :)
In my nutrition practice, Healing Whole Nutrition, I work with many different clients and issues, but mainly focus on fertility, pregnancy and family wellness. Helping couples with their nutrition before and during their pregnancy is incredibly rewarding and I love the work I do!
